2020 blue roan Lusitano/QH Filly
Rare blue roan Lusitano/QH. filly, 13.3 3/4 hh at 1 year old.
"Starlight" has gone to her new home in Kansas City, here are some coments her new owner said about her.
"Starlight is a joy and a beautiful addition to our little herd! My husband and I have been particularly impressed with her mild, sensible temperament even as a yearling. Thanks to Abi’s early groundwork, she’s responsive to light pressure, yielding hindquarters, side passing, backing, etc. She’s doing great standing tied and loads beautifully. I was so proud when both our veterinarian and farrier commented on her excellent behavior. She has an adorable personality, loves to be groomed and follows me around the paddock. Many thanks again to Abi and I’m looking forward to reserving a slot on her busy schedule when Starlight is ready for saddle training!"
She is super friendly, calm and sweet. Great conformation and balance. She shows a lot of agility and balance in her canter and playing around.
Sired by our young black Lusitano stallion "Notorio de Halconero". Her grand sire "Halconero" (98% Veiga blood lines) to quote from the "Lusitano Heritage" site;
"Veiga horses are known to be very brave, sensitive, agile, and quick, better suited for bullfighting, which they were originally bred for. These horses also compete in Dressage and Working Equitation, at international level."
Halconero is still sound and siring foals at the "Jaz Ranch" in Utah at 30 years old. After excelling in the "Bull Fighting" arena before he came to the U.S. he did dressage, and grand pix jumping in the states. Tremendous versatility and longevity.
Mother "Dusty Blue Chex", is a foundation bred, blue roan, Quarter Horse mare. Babies out of this mare have always had "bomb-proof" attitudes. Continental, King Fritz, LeoHancock, Rip's Compadre, Blue Valantine bred.
She has had her 'early learning' training and is doing well with leading, respect, and yielding lessons. Combining beauty, athleticism, graceful movement and natural cow sense, the Lusitano/QH. is ideally suited for Working equitation, Western Dressage, Vaquero style riding and any activity requiring balance and athleticism.
This is a once in a lifetime filly. If this sounds like what you have been looking for, you really need to come out and take a look at her. She is one of the finest foals that I have ever seen.
